At Glimmer Children’s Occupational Therapy, our name is inspired by glimmers—a concept from Polyvagal Theory. Glimmers are small moments of joy, safety, and connection that help regulate the nervous system and bring us out of stress and into calm. These moments are powerful, especially for growing children. Our mission is to help your child experience more of these glimmers through meaningful connection, playful exploration, and safe, supportive relationships.
We take a relationship-based, neuroaffirming, and trauma-informed approach to therapy, believing that connection is the foundation for growth. Through this lens, we support children and families to thrive in everyday life.

Did you know? Over 40% of children have dental decay by the time they start school.
The Australian Dental Association recommends that children have their first dental visit when their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday. Early visits help establish healthy habits and allow any concerns to be identified before they become bigger problems.
If treatment is required, we offer a range of options tailored to your child’s needs, including nitrous oxide (“happy gas”) sedation in our rooms and treatment under general anaesthesia at a nearby day surgery or hospital when appropriate.
📍 Conveniently located next to St Leonards Train Station
🚗 Street parking available directly outside the practice
Whether it’s your child’s first visit, a routine check-up, or you have concerns about their dental health, our team is always happy to help. We look forward to welcoming you and your little one soon.
