Clontarf Reserve is a picnic location that the whole family can enjoy. There is a playground suitable for all ages and the beach a swimming area that has been netted off with no dangerous current, which makes it suitable for smaller children. There is also a little kiosk that sells coffee, fish and chips and ice cream.

Bilarong Reserve

This foreshore parkland off the Wakehurst Parkway in Narrabeen has a lot of native trees which offer a beautiful shady picnic area with views of the lake. There is a playground with a spider web and lots of open space for sports.

Davidson Park Picnic Area
Address: Healey Way, exit on northeast side of Roseville Bridge, Warringah Road, Forestville
Davidson Park is located near the Roseville Bridge and offers a beautiful waterside setting with a middle harbour backdrop perfect for family picnics. There is a small netted off beach and lots of open grass space to kick a ball. Entry fee is $7 per car.

Shelly Beach
Address: Bower Street, Manly
This beautiful little beach is next to a reserve near Manly?s main beach and like its name suggests has lots of shells for the kids to collect. The beach is sheltered from the wind and has plenty of shade to set up a picnic mat. There are no waves which makes it a safe swimming spot for young children.

Deep Creek Reserve

Located between Wakehurst Parkway and Narrabeen Lagoon, Deep Creek is a bushland and foreshore reserve great for picnicking and enjoying native birds and animals. The recreation and picnic area is on the south end of the reserve.

The Basic Picnic Area
Address: Western foreshores of Pittwater in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park
If you have a bit more time and want to feel like you are picnicking miles away from the city, you can take a short ferry ride from Palm Beach to the Basin picnic area. The Basin is located in the western foreshores of Pittwater at Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. There is a sheltered beach?with an inland lagoon and several walking tracks as well as bird watching. And if you want to stay longer there is even a camping area.

Bobbin Head

Bobbin Head is a lovely waterfront picnic spot?located at the west end of Ku-ring-gai chase national park. This is a great spot for the whole family as it offers lots of activities including bushwalking, paddling, fishing and lots of green open space for the kids to run around. Chinamans Beach and Rosherville Reserve

If you are after a picnic spot?with lots of action then Balmoral is the one for you. Although it can be very busy on weekends and hard to find parking this harbour beach and its park has it all including a playground, enclosed swimming area, an island and a lot of grassy area to lay out a picnic mat. And if you haven’t had a chance to pack your picnic you can?pick up some food or drinks at one of the many cafes only minutes from the beach.
