Accredited Practicing Speech Pathologist specialising in paediatric feeding and swallowing difficulties. Lauren has spent most of her career working in the paediatric and neonatal tertiary hospital setting (Sydney Children’s Hospital; 2010-2023) and has also had the privilege of working within both the community and disability sectors.
She has a clinical passion for peadiatric feeding and swallowing difficulties and offers families non-judgmental and practical strategies to ensure they feel supported on their feeding journey.
Lauren offers support for a variety of eating and drinking concerns, including:
- Difficulty with bottle and/or breastfeeding.
- Difficulty transitioning to solids from breast/ bottle feeding.
- Learning to chew safely and more efficiently (oro-motor concerns).
- Concerns about swallow safety and aspiration (dysphagia).
- Food hesitancy (aka “picky eating”) and restricted range of foods eaten (e.g. PFD/ARFID).
- Oral aversion/ restricted intake related to previous negative experiences/ trauma (including allergies and complex medical/social history).
- Mealtime differences secondary to autism and ADHD.
- Tube weaning.
