We regularly care for children with additional needs, including neurodivergent children, sensory sensitivities, allergies, medical conditions, and those who may feel nervous or anxious about visiting the dentist. The Australian Dental Association recommends that children have their first dental visit when their first tooth appears, or by their first birthday. Early visits help establish healthy habits and allow any concerns to be identified before they become bigger problems.
If treatment is required, we offer a range of options tailored to your child’s needs, including nitrous oxide (“happy gas”) sedation in our rooms and treatment under general anaesthesia at a nearby day surgery or hospital when appropriate.
