Review: Frankie’s Food Factory

Anyone with young kids probably relates to wanting fabulous cafes… where you can eat in peace while the kids run ragged at a nearby play area. Frankie’s Food Factory has made its way to Terrey Hills and it’s the perfect spot to grab a bite with the little ones. Here is what Northern Beaches Mums Louise has to say about it…

We were super excited to visit Frankie’s Food Factory in Terrey Hills. Having 2 other cafes which are a hugh success, we knew that we were in for a treat! The team have taken over the cafe at Flower Power Terrey Hills, so it is a short drive from anywhere on the Northern Beaches, and well worth a visit. Sunday is a great day for breakfast out, but as I can’t get my teenagers out of bed on Sundays, so we booked for brunch.

Frankie’s Food is nestled inside the Flower Power Garden Centre in Terrey Hills. There is a nice big carpark that can be access directly from Mona Vale Road, or you can turn left into Cooyong Road and enter the carpark from there.

Outdoor play area

The outdoor play area is great. There is so much room for kids to climb on and through, with numerous tunnels, monkey bars, a big slide and so much more. The entire playground is completely shaded and fenced in, so you can head back to your table and enjoy a coffee in peace. If you don’t want to leave your kids in there, I’d suggest you phone and book a table by the window here the playground is or at one of tables outside by the side of it.

The bar

Yes, there is a bar, so alcohol can be served with your lunch. Bonus!

What’s on the menu?

The menu is extensive so you are totally spoilt for choice whatever time of day that you visit.

The food did not disappoint, and we were wowed with the presentation, the quality of the food and the generous portion sizes. As it was brunch, two of us decided on breakfast, while two decided on lunch.

Frankie’s hot cakes with roasted almonds, coconut flakes, passionfruit curd, fresh berries, triple cream and Canadian maple syrup.

This was yum. My daughter woofed it down allowing me to try a little bit. The passionfruit curd was delicious and the hot cakes were nice and moist with the sauce, cream and maple syrup.

Hoke poke bowl with edamame, coriander, cabbage, pickled onions, pickled carrot, avocado, wakame, wasabi peas, charred spring onion, black and white sesame served with brown rice and a spicy mint ponzu dressing, with your choice of fresh salmon, tuna sashimi or grilled chicken.

Look how amazing this dish looks. A colourful, healthy, tasting and filling dish too.

Pancake sliders Mini pancakes with banana and Nutella.

This was an extra dish we ordered as it had 4 pancake sliders, so we got one each. We were so full, we didn’t need these, but got carried away with the menu. But they were delicious and a treat.

Frankie’s French toast. Brioche toast with cream anglaise, fresh berries and berry compote, served with pistachio crumb and whipped ricotta.

I could seriously eat this everyday of the week, the best French toast I have ever had.

Keto orange and salmon salad. Grilled Atlantic salmon, fennel, red onion, orange slices, parsley, mint, pomegranate and roasted almonds with a Greek yoghurt and dill dressing.

The salmon with orange and Greek yoghurt just went so well together.

Loaded Milkshakes

I dare you to try these! They are fully loaded and went down a storm with my kids.

Doggie Menu

This cafe is doggie friendly too, which I loved. I love the doggie menu!

A spot of shopping in the nursery and store

Whilst there you can wander around Flower Power.

Stock up on your plants or look around the fabulous home wares that they have there. There is also a lovely fishpond for you to go and see.

Is it worth a visit?

Absolutely! It is great food, good coffee, plants, flowers and plenty of shopping. It will also keep the kids entertained. This place has everything you need for a delicious meal out with friends, kids and even your dog. The service in the cafe is also well worth a mention. The staff were all very friendly, efficient and the coffees and food were quick to come out after ordering. It was excellent service with a smile.

It is a great place for mother’s groups to meet, so the kids can play together whilst the mums have a little piece and quiet to actually talk!

With so many amazing dishes on the menu, you are going to have to visit quite a few times to work your way through the menu.
