At NBJJA, our goal is to improve the physical and mental health of Northern Beaches locals through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. With our focus on self-defence, we help to build strong, resilient and confident kids who can apply their learnings on ours mats to the real world...while having fun, of course! Our Kids Program includes Nippers (age 4 to 6), Grommets (age 7 to 10) and Titans (age 11 to 15). NBJJA is run by Collaroy locals, Jack and Gill Cox, and our Academy is in the heart of Cromer. For 30 years Anne Jenkins and the team at Terrey Hills Swim School, have been teaching children of all abilities and backgrounds to swim. Our swim school provides top class, professionally developed and instructed swimming programs and fitness activities in a friendly and fun environment.
Our Learn to Swim and Squad Programs are structured to provide a challenging learning opportunity for all ages to become competent swimmers and athletes. Once the necessary swimming competence is gained, the swimmer can choose to swim for fun and fitness or to proceed to competition. Our junior and adult squad swimmers are welcome to join the Terrey Hills Swim Club.
Terrey Hills Swim School also provides facilities for a range of other water activities, fitness programs, birthday parties, children's yoga classes, social events and relaxation programs.
Hapkido is a complete art of self defence, and suitable for everyone, young to the old and any gender. Hapkido encompasses a broad range of Martial Art facets, giving everyone the opportunity to achieve a high level of fitness and good health. Build skills and confidence, self discipline and learn control of both your mind and body, also be part of a fun community.
Hapkido has had an increase in popularity due to the fact that anyone can practice this complete art of self defence, regardless of physical weight or strength, as you use circular motion to assist in overcoming your opponent's strength or attacks.
At Northern Beaches Hapkido, we offer a wide range of classes for everyone, from our Little Ninjas (4-5 year olds), Kids (6-12 year olds), Teenagers (13-17 year olds) mixed Adult classes and also Womens Only classes.

BoxSmart is a community-focused boxing studio founded by pro boxer and local dad, Danny Kennedy. We offer fun, inclusive classes for kids (ages 5–15) that build fitness, confidence, and discipline—with no fighting involved. With 8 kids’ classes across three age groups (5–7, 7–11, 12–15), your child’s first class is free to try. Adults and 16+ can choose from 26 dynamic boxing and fitness classes each week, with a two-week trial available for just $40. We aim to train the body, strengthen the mind, nurture the spirit.
GKR Karate is a family-oriented club that has been established for 40 years. Our classes welcome students of all age groups and genders, ranging from young children (5yrs +), teens, adults and families. We also have specialised introductory classes for 3 & 4 year olds.
Aside from the confidence gained when learning self-defence, karate training can have a positive impact on children’s focus, coordination, physical wellbeing and overall behaviour. For adults, karate training will not only improve fitness, balance and flexibility. It’s also an opportunity to learn something new, meet new people, relieve stress and stay healthy.
