Gill and David, a couple from the Northern Beaches, enjoyed a romantic dinner at Chiosco By Ormeggio, and here is their review…
‘Chiosco By Ormeggio’ is a casual waterside restaurant.
It is a real Italian trattoria by the water, with magnificent views. Serving more traditional Italian meals and take away options at lunch.
The restaurant has a great menu with heaps of choice. We decided to try the Premium sharing feast menu. This is a great way to try lots of different things as the chef serves a selection of their various dishes. The portions were very generous and by the time we got to desert we were starting to feel well and truly stuffed, and wished we?d not eaten all the bread but the sourdough had been so delicious with the oil and we ate it all !
We had the following to try :
Bruschetta: sourdough ? fresh stracciatella ? peach ? mint oil
Ricciola: hiramasa kingfish ? buttermilk ? plum ? strawberry ? dill ? chilli
Prosciutto:??prosciutto ? radicchio ? pecorino ? pistachio
Gnocchi cacio e pepe: pecorino ? parmesan ? black pepper ? brussels sprouts
Fusilli:? homemade fusilli ? blackmore wagyu shank ragout ? pecorino
Gamberoni?grilled split king prawns ? chilli ? lemon
Pollo:?half chicken ? roasted kipfler potato and burnt butter ? sage ? parsley ? garlic
And for dessert a selection of three of their desserts each!
Bombolone?? nutella,?Cannolo?? ricotta and?Tiramisu?
And all for?$79!!! Such great value for such quality food and so much of it. The food is really great not your average restaurant at all and hence we felt they were giving the food away at the price they were charging. We would have paid double the price and been happy.
This is a beautiful restaurant for a regular go to place for the family but also for that special occasion. The tables for two at the side of the water make for a romantic night out!
Another bonus with this restaurant is that it has a full bar but also BYO too if you prefer.
This is our find of the year and I had to share our experience with you. I highly recommend a visit.
