Belrose:
John Colet School
John Colet is an independent, multi-faith, co-educational K-6 school in Belrose.
As a stand-alone primary school, their focus is entirely on the 5 – 12 age group. They see this stage as fundamental in setting the academic foundations, as well as a love of learning, character, and the feeling of self-worth that a child will need to enter high school and beyond. John Colet School believes that individual progress and the development of character are the real evidence of success. The teachers stay with the same class for three years in Infants, two years for 3rd and 4th Class, and two years for their final period in primary. This extended time allows for a deeper, longer-lasting connection between the teacher and the student and a greater understanding of the learning styles of each child. Many of the school’s unique subjects, such as Philosophy, Shakespeare, classical languages, singing and Art, and clubs such as chess and fencing, help develop each child’s ability to give attention to focus. Regular pausing throughout the day helps the students learn how to fall still, quiet their emotions, and give their attention to the task at hand.
John Colet School can take students throughout the school year, where places exist in the particular year group, and after a trial day.
Limited places are available in some years in 2024. The school is currently enrolling for Kindergarten 2027 and 2028.
Open Day: Sunday 26th May 2024, 10am – 2pm
Tours of the peaceful bushland campus are available by booking throughout the year.
