John Colet School

John Colet is an independent, multi-faith, co-educational K-6 school in Belrose.

As a stand-alone primary school, their focus is entirely on the 5 – 12 age group. They see this stage as fundamental in setting the academic foundations, as well as a love of learning, character, and the feeling of self-worth that a child will need to enter high school and beyond. John Colet School believes that individual progress and the development of character are the real evidence of success. The teachers stay with the same class for three years in Infants, two years for 3rd and 4th Class, and two years for their final period in primary. This extended time allows for a deeper, longer-lasting connection between the teacher and the student and a greater understanding of the learning styles of each child. Many of the school’s unique subjects, such as Philosophy, Shakespeare, classical languages, singing and Art, and clubs such as chess and fencing, help develop each child’s ability to give attention to focus. Regular pausing throughout the day helps the students learn how to fall still, quiet their emotions, and give their attention to the task at hand.

John Colet School can take students throughout the school year, where places exist in the particular year group, and after a trial day.

Limited places are available in some years in 2024. The school is currently enrolling for Kindergarten 2027 and 2028.

Open Day: Sunday 26th May 2024, 10am – 2pm

Tours of the peaceful bushland campus are available by booking throughout the year.

Sydney Japanese International School

The NSW curriculum is taught just like all local schools with the bonus of daily Japanese lessons as well as joint music, art and PE lessons with the Japanese Division. With smaller class sizes and a respectful, friendly and nurturing atmosphere, they would love more families to get to know about the school and consider it as a school for their children.

Kindergarten Open Morning is on Friday 17th May 2024 at 11am.

Join for a morning tea to discover more about their Kindergarten program (NSW curriculum with daily Japanese lessons) and to understand the optimal ways to prepare one’s child for ‘big school’.

“After attending SJIS, our child graduated bilingual and bicultural and was able to develop a global perspective – I would recommend SJIS to families who are seeking the same outcomes.”

“If your child is happy, learning, and loves going to school every day, then you have a wonderful school that you want to tell the rest of the world about, and that’s how we feel about SJIS!”
