by A Mum Who Is Definitely Not a Wine Expert
After a day of school runs, reheating chicken nuggets, and negotiating with a small human about why socks must be worn, I opened the 100 Million % 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon — and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. It was under ten dollars. I figured it would be one of those wines you politely smile through.
But no. This wine is the definition of a pleasant surprise.
The first sip had me blinking at the glass like, hang on… did I accidentally open something expensive? It’s smooth, fruity, and has that lovely dark berry thing going on — the kind of flavour that makes you feel like you know what you’re talking about even though you absolutely do not. There’s a hint of vanilla too, which made me feel very sophisticated for noticing it.
What really gets me is the price. It is under $10! For something that tastes this polished, this drinkable, this “I deserve something nice tonight”, it feels like you’re getting away with something. Pour it into a decent glass and no one would guess it wasn’t a $40 bottle.
It’s the perfect “kids are finally in bed” wine. The perfect “my friend popped over for one glass but we both know it won’t be one” wine. The perfect “I want to feel fancy without spending fancy money” wine. Go and try it !
