Jurassic World: The Exhibition now offers SEN sessions for all families with special needs

After wowing crowds since it opened in Sydney, the award-winning Jurassic World: The Exhibition is now offering SEN sessions for special needs families so all dinosaur fans can experience the breathtaking magic of this recreated prehistoric world.

Launched on Thursday 2nd November, the new SEN sessions run every Thursday at 4.30pm and 5pm and are designed to be low sensory and accessible, to allow those with special needs and their carers to have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Tailored changes to the exhibition will include:

  • A detailed agenda for the session including a location map with parking information, where the check-in entrance is and bathroom accessibility
  • No closed doors at any point in the exhibition to allow the option to join or depart as needs dictate
  • Fast exit options with staff on hand to escort families if the need arises
  • Break points during the exhibition where participants can calm down and de-stimulate
  • A quiet room with dimmed lights, sensory blankets and fidget toys that can be accessed in case of over stimulation
  • Roaming security and staff will also be trained in understanding special needs requirements and how to handle potential incidents

“Since we opened in September we’ve had a number of approaches from interested parents, carers and other guests that they would love to attend the exhibition but were concerned about overstimulation so we’re excited to announce these new sensory sessions and are looking forward to making it possible for even more fans to get the closest they’ll ever get to living dinosaurs,” says Justin James, Co-CEO of SuperLuna.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition is a family-friendly exhibit of massive proportions based on one of the biggest blockbuster franchises in cinema history. Visitors walk through the iconic “Jurassic World” gates, explore richly themed environments, encounter a life-sized brachiosaurus, velociraptors, and the most fearsome dinosaur of all, the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex. Guests will be able to imagine what it would have been like to roam amongst these breathtaking creatures, and even interact with baby dinosaurs, including “Bumpy” from the popular animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous from Universal Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and DreamWorks Animation, currently streaming on Netflix.

The new SEN sessions for Jurassic World: The Exhibition will launch Thursday 2nd November and run every Thursday at 4.30pm and 5pm until Thursday 29th November at the SuperLuna Pavilion, Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park.

Other general exhibition hours are as follows:
