Randwick Christmas Festival
The spirit of Christmas is here and, not only is this a festival, it is a race day hosted by the Australian Turf Club to say thank you to the local community and the racing industry for the support over the past year. Taking place at Royal Randwick Racecourse, the seasonal event is being touted as the biggest summer celebration yet.
From the early afternoon into the evening, enjoy free family twilight racing, a myriad of pop-up bars, fine dining restaurants, cafes and food vans, Christmas treats, free amusement rides, jumping castles, a petting zoo and pony rides for the younger visitors.
A festive parade will feature Santa and his merry friends, from Rudolph to the Gingerbread Man, his Elves and Frosty the Snowman. Santa will also be available for free photo opportunities in his Grotto, so make sure you bring your camera.
Stage shows will further entertain onlookers. See Bluey and her little sister Bingo in their interactive Christmas Live Experience and get ready to play Verandah Santa, Keepy Uppy, Classic Catches and more, plus after the last race, there will be a lighting of the Christmas tree and a special festive Christmas concert from Bonnie Anderson to enjoy on the Octagonal Lawn.
The schedule of events is as follows:
- 1.45pm Member gates open
- 2.00pm Public gates open
- 2.00pm Rides and entertainment commence
- 2.55pm First race
- 4.30pm Stage shows commence
- 6.35pm Last race
- 6.45pm Santa & Friends parade
- 6.55pm Lighting of Christmas tree
- 7.00pm Bonnie Anderson Christmas concert
Entry is free but you will need to register online for General Admission. Hospitality packages are also available through the Turf Club’s website. Your $25 NSW Dine vouchers can be used at The Kensington Cafe (General Admission patrons) or Triple Crown Cafe (for Members)
