Christmas Choral Concert
The popular, free entry community event will start the festive season off with a bang!
Sing along to all your favourite Christmas carols, performed by local musicians and choir.
Bring along a picnic or enjoy tasty food from our range of food trucks. Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance.
Event opens at 5pm, concert starts at 6.30pm.
They want everyone to be safe at the Christmas events – please make sure to pick up a free ID wristband for your children at the information tent.
Christmas Choir
The Christmas Choral Concert Choir is made up of representatives from a number of local community choirs.
Rehearsals are well underway and they look forward to joining along at the event.
Host – Erika Heynatz
Popular TV personality and well known performer, Erika Heynatz will host the festivities at this year’s Christmas Choral Concert at Manly Oval.
Erika was the original host of Australia’s Next Top Model. Moving on to win It Takes Two (CH7) which landed her a recording contract with EMI Music Australia.
On stage, Erika has been apart of the cast for Legally Blonde (2012), The Rocky Horror Show and Singin In The Rain, receiving a number of Helpmann nominations.
Erika will not only host but also sing a number of your favouriite Christmas Carols.
Performer – Rob Edwards
Rob Edwards is a creative and original neo soul R&B singer, keyboard artist and guitarist. Moving from Auckland, New Zealand to Sydney when he was eleven. With a music careers spanning over a decade, he creates a fun and uplifting blend of soul, R&B and acid jazz.
Rob currently fronts six piece band SUITE AZ and has performed with the likes of Smokey Robinson, INXS, Boyz II Men, Paul Kelly, Daniel Merriweather and Jessica Mauboy. Rob sang lead vocals on songs featured in Award Winning Australian film The Sapphires and performed on Channel Nine’s The Voice as backing vocals for UK Artist Seal and finalists.
Rob will perform some of your favourite Christmas Carols.
Performer – Danielle Barnes
Danielle has almost 30 years experience working professionally in the entertainment industry.
An established professional singer and artist, Danielle recently performed as a featured singer in the Australian premier of Boubil and Schonberg’s Concert series ‘Do You Hear The People Sing’ at Hamer Hall and The Sydney Opera House. Prior to that she reprised the role of Caroline in Belvoir’s Sydney Opera House production of ‘Fangirls’ of which she was nominated for a 2022 Green Room Award in the Best Supporting Artist category.
Danielle has performed at countless concerts and corporate events and is currently a long standing performance and singing coach at one of Australia’s leading performing arts schools ED5 International.
We look forward to having Danielle perform your traditional Christmas Carols as well as a duet with husband Scott Irwin.
Performer – Scott Irwin
With a career spanning over twenty plus years, Scott has established himself as one of Australia’s leading men, collecting an impressive list of professional credits: including Corny Collins in Hairspray, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia, as well as leading roles in Les Misérables, Camelot, Carousel, in Cho Cho and Kiss Me Kate.
Scott has performed in countless concerts and corporate events both as a soloist and a member of The Leading Men, The Rat Pack Reloaded and most recently Kings of Croon.
Scott will perform your traditional Christmas Carols as well as a duet with wife Danielle Barnes.
Performer – Monique Raso
Monque is a 17 year old passionate singer songwriter. She has had a vast amount of success in vocal competitions, receiving first places in Northern beaches eisteddfod and was titled Sydney eisteddfod ‘Junior Singer of the year’ in 2019. She also won an online competition in 2021 where she released her first single NIGHT on all platforms – go check it out!
Performer – Tili Kay
Tilli Kay is a Northern Beaches 17 year old singer / songwriter and most recently came Second Place at the highly contested Northern Composure Unplugged 2021. Having performed with Opera Australia and winning Sydney Eisteddfods’ Junior Singer of the Year, Tilli Kay can be heard at numerous gigs along the northern beaches. This is Tilli Kay’s 5th time singing for you at Manly Carols.
Performers – Reignite
Reignite is a young highly talented group of students from the Sydney Vocal Arts Centre.
Between them they have performed in over 5 productions with Opera Australia, also in professional shows The School of Rock, Shrek the Musical and many more.
This will be their second performance as a group at the Manly Carols and they are super excited!
