The Aussie swimwear brand is calling on all mums, dads, aunties, and grandmas for their 2023 Budgy Baby Search, with the most adorable Baby Smuggler set to win more than $6k in prizes.
Budgy Smuggler is on the hunt for Australia’s cutest and cheekiest baby smuggler with the return of its Budgy Baby Search. Following the popularity of previous Budgy Baby competitions which began in 2020, the iconic Australian brand is once again looking for a face to represent the future of Smuggling.
In the few days since the competition was announced, Budgy Smuggler has received more than 50 entries showing baby Smugglers all around the nation decked out in their instantly recognisable prints.
Adam Linforth, Chief Smuggler at Budgy Smuggler, said the competition is a way to keep the age-old Aussie tradition of Smuggling alive in the younger generation.
“There is nothing more classically Australian than Budgy Smugglers, so our goal is to protect the future of Smuggling by encouraging mums, dads, siblings, grandparents, and friends to enter their most adorable young Smuggler – we have a legacy to preserve,” he said.
The winner of the competition will receive a grand prize valued at more than $6,000, including $5,000 for two Budgy Baby photoshoots, a Budgy-wrapped Mercedes AMG G63 Remote Control Kids Ride-On Electric Car valued at $1,000, and a $500 Budgy Smuggler gift voucher.
To enter the 2023 Budgy Baby Search, applicants must email or upload a photo of their little one wearing a swimsuit from the brand’s kids Smuggler range. Entries are open to children aged between 0-5, with submissions closing on May 18.
Adam Linforth said that after the success of their previous Budgy Baby competitions, shining a spotlight once again on their most adorable customers was a no-brainer.
“We have always had an amazing response to the Budgy Baby Search – both from the public and from our own employees whose days were brightened by the number of cute photos that came flooding in – so we knew we needed to bring it back for 2023,” he said.
Known for its bold prints and steadfast belief that Australians should ditch the board shorts and free the thighs, Budgy Smuggler quickly grew from a small business operating out of Manly, NSW to a global swimwear brand with customers in the UK, USA, New Zealand, and Europe.
