What I appreciated most was how the book naturally sparked conversation while we were reading. While we were reading, she kept pointing at the pictures and saying how cool the whale shark looked. She told me her favourite part was learning that whale sharks might look huge and a bit scary, but they’re actually gentle animals. She also loved the ocean setting and liked spotting the different sea creatures in the illustrations. After we finished the book, she asked if whale sharks were real and wanted to know where they live, which led us into a little mini lesson about ocean animals. I love when a story naturally sparks curiosity like that.
It’s one of those stories that encourages kids to want to learn more after finishing it. The message about bravery and curiosity is gentle but meaningful, making it a wonderful book for parents and children to explore together. It’s a lovely addition to any child’s bookshelf, especially for kids who love animals or ocean adventures.
