A Mum’s Review
If you’ve got a sporty kid or a kid who loves a good friendship story — honestly, any kid — this one is a winner. The story moves quickly, the characters are easy to love, and the themes of teamwork and friendship come through in the most natural, unforced way. No lectures, just a really good story. The chapters are short and punchy which is perfect for emerging readers, and the whole book has this warm, feel-good energy that makes it a lovely bedtime read. A great first book for the series and a wonderful introduction to a role model worth knowing!
What My Daughter Said
She was quiet for a moment at the end, then looked up very seriously and said, “Maz is a really good friend.” Melted. Completely melted. Then she asked if she could start football. Reader, we signed her up.
