I’ll be honest, I had no idea what KPop Demon Hunters was before my daughter came running to me, phone in hand, insisting I watch the Netflix trailer immediately. Fast forward a few weeks, and here we are with this adorable Little Golden Book on our bedside table, read so many times the spine already knows where to fall open.
At just 24 pages and under $6, this is an absolute steal for any household with a young fan of the film. The stylised artwork is genuinely gorgeous and full of personality. It introduces Rumi, Mira, and Zoey (pop stars by day, demon hunters by night and honestly, goals), the mischievous Saja Boys demon-boy band, the loveable Derpy Tiger, Sussie, and the rest of the gang.
What I love most as a parent is how effortlessly it blends girl-power themes with adventure and fun. These are young women who are bold, talented, and fierce. Great role models wrapped up in glittery K-pop packaging. The text is simple enough for my daughter to read along independently, but the story has just enough spark to hold her attention from start to finish.
It makes a brilliant gift, a perfect movie night companion, or just a lovely little treat. We’ve added it permanently to our nightly reading rotation and I don’t mind one bit. 🌙

“OH MY GOSH this book is SO COOL. Rumi and Mira and Zoey are my FAVOURITE because they fight demons AND they’re pop stars and that is the best job EVER. My favourite part is Derpy Tiger because he is so funny and cute and I want one.
The pictures are really really pretty and sparkly and I like all the colours. Mum read it to me first and then I read it to my teddies. I read it four times already. Maybe five.
The Saja Boys are a bit scary but also funny. I want to be a demon hunter when I grow up. Or maybe a pop star. BOTH. Like them!
You should DEFINITELY get this book. Even if you haven’t watched the movie. Actually, go watch the movie first and THEN get the book. That’s what me and Mum did and it was the best day.”
