A Mum’s Review
This book is just pure joy in paperback form. It’s funny, fast-moving and exactly the kind of story that makes a six-year-old want to turn the page instead of ask for a snack. The characters feel real and relatable, the adventure keeps things exciting, and the whole thing wraps up in the most satisfying way. It’s also just the right length — we finished it over two bedtimes, which felt like the perfect amount of “just one more chapter, please!” The illustrations are gorgeous too, which honestly helps when you’ve got a little one who’s still building their reading stamina. A brilliant pick for early readers!
What My Daughter Said
She grabbed my arm at the dog chaos scene and went “MUM. THE DOG.” in full panic mode. When it all worked out she let out the biggest sigh of relief. Then immediately asked if we could get a dog. We cannot get a dog.
