I?STEAM?Ahead?-?a unique childcare centre in?The Northern Beaches?

Based in the seaside suburb of Brookvale, the I STEAM Ahead Early Learning Centre will be opening in January next year with Moira Battikha heading up the team as the Centre?s Founder and Director.

Moira has a background as a Primary School Teacher, is a qualified Reading Recovery Teacher, and has also been an educator of children with special needs and from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Moira and her team are passionate about embracing the diversity of learning needs in the childcare space and helping children to realise their full potential, and they are proud to be advocates of high quality childcare services in the Northern Beaches area.

I STEAM Ahead will be holding an Open Day on Saturday 8th December and would love you and your little one to join them between 10am and 2pm to explore their brand new facilities. This will give you a chance to meet their amazing educators, discover their innovative take on the Early Years Learning Framework and of course have some fun as well! Interactive activities will include balloon twisting, facepainting, arts and crafts, construction play and coding for kids.

Programs that educate, inspire and delight

On the day, you can find out more about I STEAM Ahead?s unique programs that have a strong focus on incorporating 21st century skills into your child?s everyday activities. Their programs also reflect international research that suggests that around 75% of the fastest growing industries require children to have some STEM or STEAM skills in subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.

With research showing that the first five years of a child?s life are critical to the processes of growth and development, I STEAM Ahead?s STEAM programs offer children a wonderful opportunity to explore these disciplines through play by promoting curiosity, exploration, creativity, collaboration, inquiry and critical thinking.

Facilities tailored to your child?s needs and abilities

Along with their focus on holistic education, I STEAM Ahead has a number of purpose built rooms ideally suited to your child?s age and stage of development.

Their Rattlers Room is suited to children from six weeks to two years old and features calming d?cor to instil a warm and inviting atmosphere. Resources are carefully selected to achieve an optimal balance between education and play, and their compassionate educators will take the time to get to know your child so that your routines are reflected in the daily program. Their educators are also committed to fostering in each child a strong sense of comfort, wellbeing and belonging.

Their Shakers (ages two to three), Movers (ages three to four) and Steamers (ages four to five) Rooms are creative environments that challenge, promote innovation and focus on the optimal growth and development of your child. Filled with sensory toys and STEAM resources, I STEAM Ahead?s dedicated staff will focus on extending your child?s knowledge, interests and skills to prepare them for their formal schooling years. This is achieved through the implementation of unique programs that focus on school readiness for a curriculum that includes STEAM disciplines.

Combined with large outdoor environments that include climbing equipment, a sand pit and their very own veggie patch, your child can engage and delight in learning spaces that are all about exploring, investigating and having fun!

From six weeks old to five years I STEAM Ahead will offer programs suited to your child?s individual needs. So whether your toddler is making the transition from home or you have an older child getting ready for the big wide world of formal schooling, the team would love the opportunity to share in your child?s growth and development journey.
