New Year’s Eve: Manly
The Manly Cove fireworks are graciously presented by local businesses, with generous support from the Council. A dazzling fireworks display at 9pm is scheduled for Manly Cove, taking place at East and West Esplanade Reserves.
To facilitate the event, road closures will be implemented on Sunday, December 31, from 5pm to 10:30pm in the following areas:
- West and East Esplanade from Commonwealth Parade to Ashburner Street
- Belgrave Street from Sydney Road to West Esplanade
- West Promenade from Sydney Road to Gilbert Street
- Victoria Parade from Darley Road to East Esplanade
- Wentworth Street from Darley Road to East Esplanade
- Eustace Street from Gilbert Street to West Esplanade
- Gilbert Street from West Promenade to Belgrave Street
Residents are advised that access to Wentworth Street and Victoria Parade is available via Darley Road, while Upper Gilbert Street can be accessed via Camera Street. Real-time traffic conditions can be monitored at www.livetraffic.com.

Council’s Hop, Skip, & Jump bus service will operate on New Year’s Eve, adhering to the weekend timetable as New Year’s Eve falls on a Sunday. Users are encouraged to check the timetable in advance and be aware of potential delays.
Additionally, the Manly Federation Boardwalk will be closed to all pedestrians on New Year’s Eve. Travel plans should be arranged in advance, and detour signage to and from Fairlight is provided on the map.
