Free biking workshop for adults
Following a road safety survey that revealed a significant gender disparity in bike riding frequency, with 55% of women expressing concerns about road safety, the Council has collaborated with the experienced coaches from ‘Pedal Set Go’ to introduce the Free Biking Workshop for Adults.
Designed to address the specific needs of those who wish to confidently navigate shared paths and local roads while cycling, this free workshop offers a secure and guided environment to enhance riding skills and boost confidence.
Led by qualified coaches from Pedal Set Go, the workshop covers essential topics, including an overview of bicycle road rules, basic bike maintenance, safety checks for bikes and helmets, introductory bike riding skills conducted initially in an enclosed car park area, and a guided tour on a local shared path. Participants will also be provided with lunch.
To make the most of this workshop, attendees are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets. The coaches from Pedal Set Go are committed to providing valuable support to help people feel more secure and capable while riding.
