Australia Day Eve Open Air Cinema

Northern Beaches Council are holding a number of events over the week of Australia Day.

The council will be hosting an Australia Day themed Open Air Cinema – screening the iconic Australian movie, Red Dog – based on the legendary true story of the Red Dog who united a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long lost master.

Bring your picnic rug and enjoy a night under the stars!

Gates open at 5.30pm, movie commences at 6.30pm.

Tickets must be pre-purchased for a cost of $5 per person + booking fees, The first 1000 people will receive a bag of popcorn upon entry.

Food

You can bring a picnic or choose to grab a movie snack from one of the yummy food trucks on site:

  • Dope Fusion, – Offering fusion style food where you can mix and match toppings and bases
  • Gelato Fruit Mania – Award winning Giotto Gelato for a hot summer night
  • Mr Kernal – Delights from world famous chips on a stick, sweet corn and classic burgers
  • Satay Brothers – From classic satay, crispy pork burger, to Thai loaded fries, there’s something for everyone!

This is a glass free event.

In line with Council’s Single Use Plastics Policy, there will be no bottled water available for purchase at this event. Please bring your own water bottle. There are water stations at the event site for you to refill and refresh.

This is an accessible event.

Film rating

Red Dog (2011) is rated PG. We recommend Parental Guidance.

Terms and conditions

All sessions are general admission only. Please arrive early to secure your seat.

Low lying chairs are permitted for this event. Picnic rugs are suggested.

Everyone who attends the family-friendly events must adhere the Terms and Conditions.

Please note – dogs are not permitted at this event.
