Philip Shaw started washing wine bottles at Penfolds at a young age before studying Agriculture and Oenology (winemaking) and Roseworthy. His two sons Damien and Dan since now taken over ownership where Dan is the head winemaker and Damien is CEO. Head Chef Peter Welsh will be curating a 5-course menu to match the wines of Philip Shaw with Daniel Shaw hosting to talk you through the wines and the long history of Philip Shaw.
Aaron Mercer started over 20 years ago selling wined scrubbing tanks in the Hunter Valley. Learning from all the local legends, including Tyrells, he soon realised the joy of making wine and continued his education all over the world. He is one of NSW’s most awarded and versatile winemakers, with extensive experience working in France, Germany,Canada and California and is now best known for his positive impact on Organic and Preservative free winemaking in Australia.
Join Aaron along side head chef Peter Walsh and Sommelier Lou Edney for a night filled with Hunter knowledge, a great feasting menu and supporting local business in the backyard.
