A Northern Beaches Christmas

Christmas on the Northern Beaches is a magical time, not only is the weather beautiful, but the days are longer and you can celebrate long into the evening. A specialty on our beaches are?the Christmas Light streets, once dusk falls the streets come alive with gorgeous twinkling lights and moving Santas, the children just love watching all the lights at night. We will be highlighting those we find for youand also listing loads of great local events and places to have your Santa photo taken. And don?t forget to check out the Christmas buses?(from December) which are always a family favourite.

Christmas Light Displays on the Northern Beaches

One of the highlights at Christmas is the amazing Christmas lights displays by home owners to get into the spirit of Christmas. Go for an after dinner wander through the streets after dark and enjoy the dramatic displays that await you. Cambage Court Christmas Lights

Michael Grey invites you to the 2017 Cambage Court Christmas Lights. Over 100,000 Christmas Lights, Front and Backyard display, 3 window displays, Carols, BBQs and Santa.

Starting the 30th of November at 10 Cambage Court, Davidson.

The display is also raising funds for three charities including Red Nose, The Humpty Dumpty Foundation and Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Borgnis Street Christmas Lights

Visiting the Borgnis Street Christmas lights in Davidson is a much loved tradition on the Northern Beaches. Each year the residents of Borgnis Street deck out their homes in a multitude of Christmas lights in spectacular displays all for the purpose of bringing some of the Christmas cheer and fun to many visitors on the street.

From the 2nd of December, the lights will start twinkling at some houses with the arrival of the Cadbury Joy Sleigh at 6.30pm. The remaining houses and Fire Station will switch on officially on Friday 7th December, between 6.30pm and 10.00pm (and might night on Christmas Eve) with thousands of visitors staring in awe and wonder at the wonderful displays.

Starting from the display at the Davidson local rural fire bridge, through to the top of the street at number 1, you will be amazed at the many displays you will encounter on your walk or drive.

The street also has a serious side to their displays; they raise money for Bear Cottage, a children’s hospice in Manly, where seriously ill children and their families can go for some respite from their treatments. One of the best days/nights for the street is when the kids from the hospice come to visit the displays and are grateful for the small wonder the lights evoke when they view them. For many years, the street has collected donations and awarded a Warringah Council Australia Day community award for their efforts in this regard.

If, during your visit, you do like what you see, and would like to leave a small donation for Bear Cottage, there are a number of buckets placed at some of the displays and the lovely Rotary personal will also be manning various collection points on the street.

The residents are looking forward to seeing you on the street soon. Have a Merry Christmas from all at Borgnis Street.

Cadbury Joy Sleigh event on the 2nd December:

The Cadbury Joy Deliveries Christmas Sleigh is popping up at the Christmas lights at Borgnis Street, Davidson on 2nd December at 6.30pm. Take a guided virtual reality sleigh ride of the night sky and sparkling streets with Santa and his reindeer.

Christmas Carol Nights

Open Day & Twilight Carols

From 3.30pm – 5.30pm you will be able to try out the brand new 2 level high ropes course or play a round of laser tag on the newly updated field. There will also be site tours running throughout the afternoon.

St Stephens Church Christmas Carols in the Park

This is a great, free event for families and friends to come together with their picnic rugs and beach towels and enjoy a casual festive atmosphere on Collaroy Beach, south end of the Beach Club.

Franky Valentyn will be on the balcony stage singing all the Christmas classics with speakers out on the beach and throughout The Club. On the beach there will be a visit from Santa, free lollies for the kids and glow gadgets for sale. Plus there will be a fireworks display after dark.
