“The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
On Friday 14th of July, former Australian Idol winner Damien Leith’s son, 16-year-old Jagger Leith is released his new single, One Step, with friend, Chelsea Kokden.
One step is an electrifying pop anthem that showcases Jagger and Chelsea’s raw talent. With acoustic beginnings and a thumping drive, the high-energy and up-beat tempo, accompanied by both Jagger and Chelsea’s voices, makes for a heart-melting melody.
Evoking emotion throughout, this new single tells the personal story of trying to reach someone who’s slowly drifting away. With acoustic beginnings and a thumping drive, Jagger and Chelsea’s voices melt together in a heart-touching fusion. Produced by hit-maker Stuart Stuart and written with Damien Leith, Bobby Kidd and Olivia Spiteri, this pop track is inspired by artists like Lewis Capaldi and Shawn Mendes.
Jagger’s passion for music was ignited when he released his first single, ‘Better Together,’ at 14 years of age.
It’s evident that music runs deep in the Leith family, and Jagger is carrying the legacy forward.
“He (Jagger) has always been obsessed with music, writing songs, and playing every instrument he could pick up from guitar, piano, drums to saxophone. It’s so great to see my kids so passionate about music,” he says. “From my parents to grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts, music has been in my family’s blood for generations, and to see my kids getting into it too is just so cool.”
Damien also praises Chelsea’s powerhouse voice with a seriously impressive range, and has no doubt that Australia will adore the magic that the duo have created with ‘One Step.’
