Lights and nature collide for an out-of-this-world immersive experience as Wild Lights at Taronga Zoo returns as a Vivid Sydney location for 2023! At Wild Lights, guests will get to explore the Zoo after dark on a brand–new illuminated light walk where they will encounter over 100 awe-inspiring installations and captivating animal lanterns.
Over 18 unforgettable nights from the 26th of May – the 17th of June this year’s Wild Lights at Taronga has been inspired by ancient and present wisdom of the oldest continuing culture on the planet and will see Australia’s unique wildlife be transformed into a magical wonderland of light and colour.
With a strong focus on caring for the Country and driving change, this year’s event will debut a variety of new and iconic lanterns such as the emu, echidna, dingo, platypus, kangaroo, and koala, created by First Nations Artist, Nathan Packham of YURANA CREATIVE, and is a collaboration between Nicholas Tory and his team at Ample Projects.
Wild Lights is a fantastic experience for everyone to enjoy, including families with kids of all ages. Children and adults alike will be captivated by the magical atmosphere and the opportunity to learn about wildlife conservation in a fun and interactive way.

Wild Lights at Taronga runs from Friday 26th May to Saturday 17th June 2023 (Every Wednesday-Sunday, including Public Holiday Monday 12th June 2023).
Two session times per evening:
- Session 1 – 5.30pm enter anytime from 5.30pm
- Session 2 – 7.30pm enter anytime from 7.30pm
