Selling for a Cause!

McGrath Collaroy & Dee Why are looking for a house to sell and here is why!

Working in customer service industry for over 35 years, one of the main things Jill Rafferty loves is how close she has become to some amazing people. Creating lasting relationships and working with clients she now call friends. Jill had the pleasure of meeting and working for the Muldoon family in 2012 with the sale of their home. She got to know the family really well over this period and loved having the privilege of being a big part of the next chapter in their life. Over the years, the Muldoon family and Jill kept in contact and the news to hear that Lachie had taken sick was heart wrenching and passing so quickly after diagnosis of his brain cancer in 2015 at the young age of 10.

As a child, Jill lost her mum (24) from a brain tumour and later her 10 year old cousin (not brain related), losing a child is something no parent should have to go through. Tanja reached out to Jill to say they were raising funds to help with the research for children just like Lachie. Jill felt an overwhelming urge to help in any way she could, this is when Love for Lachie was formed and now McGrath is delighted and honoured to say that this will be their 4th year as their major sponsor.

Being a principal and senior agent in real estate for over 13 years, Jill has found a genuine passion for selling homes and helping families move on in their next journey, she finds it extremely rewarding. This is why The Love for Lachie Foundation and Jill decided the best way for the team at McGrath to get involved was by offering their services for a job that the McGrath team has a passion for in order to help a cause that is so dear to our hearts. For the last three years, Jill has auctioned off her services, being the senior selling agent on a home sale and donating the full selling fee straight to Love for Lachie. Over this time, the team at McGrath Collaroy/Dee Why and Jill have raised over $90,000 through the commissions donated and the incentive that every sale from the two offices have a portion of the commission donated straight to children’s brain cancer research. Jill and the McGrath team love what they do, but they believe there is another level of happiness and reward when what they do gets to make a difference.

If you are thinking of selling in the coming year, Jill would be more than happy to have a discussion about the cause, how the auction works and let you know how together we can all make a difference – call Jill directly on 9982 0655.
