Local shopping malls with indoor playgrounds

We’ve all suffered the dread of needing to visit our local supermarket with the kids in tow!  Thankfully, many of our local malls and centres have been paying attention to this too and have created fun spaces and playgrounds where our little ones can burn off some energy and make that trip to the shops much less exhausting for us parents.  Here’s our pick of the best playgrounds in nearby shopping centres.  If you happen to find a great new shopping centre playground let us know and we’ll add it here….


Dee Why Grand – At Dee Why Grand there’s a great free play area Grand Playland for kids under 5yrs on the lower ground floor near the food court, open from 9am-5pm every day.

Where: 15-18 Pacific Parade, Dee Why

 

Warriewood Square: The play area at Warriewood Square is interactive featuring native animals from the Northern Beaches area. It’s located outside Kmart.

 

Where: Jacksons Road, Warriewood

 

Westfield Waringah Mall:  Kids Playworld is a unique Kidsplay area (next to Three Beans Café). Take the young ones to picnic in the open spaces, experience the sounds of the ocean and light up the pebbles. Kids can climb, hide and spin on the handcrafted equipment. The recommended age is 3-8 years and parental supervision is required. The soft play for younger children is on ground level, opposite Just Jeans.

Belrose Supercentre: The undercover playground has recently been upgraded, which means even more fun for the kids.
Come along, have a coffee while the kids enjoy the upgraded facilities.
You will also find an indoor soft play area on level 1 near Adairs Kids.

Where: 4-6 Niangala Cl, Belrose NSW 2085

Top Ryde City
There are two free children’s play areas located on Level 1. The 0-2 Play Zone is for the tiny tots who are just starting to explore whilst the larger playground is for the 3-12 year olds.

Where: Devlin St & Blaxland Rd, Ryde

Macquarie Centre
Macquarie Centre has two fantastic kids area. The Little Explorers Playground, located on Level 4 near the ABC Shop, is a free play area for young children.  Chipmunks Playland is also located on Level 4, and this is a separate indoor play centre for kids up to the age of 11. Entry for children starts at $10.90. They offer a ‘drop off’ service for kids 5 and over, if you’re looking to shop on your own in peace.

Chatswood Chase
On Level 4 (top level) in the homewares precinct, you’ll find a children’s ‘playpod’ rather than a soft play area, where children can be entertained with 6 iPads, and a large interactive touchscreen for games and puzzles.

Where: 345 Victoria Avenue, Chatswood

Westfield Hornsby

The children’s playworld is open to all children! Entry is free, free however children must be supervised at all times.

There is one playworld inside located on Level 2, near Aldi and another play area outside Kangnam BBQ (Level 2) in the dining precinct.

Where: 36 Pacific Highway, Hornsby

 

Rhodes Waterside

Rhodes Waterside has unveiled its brand new, state of the artm bespoke play area built just for your little monkeys! Located on the Ground Floor, it encompasses 6m tall climbing towers, connected by an exciting crawling tunnel stretching over the centre’s escalators!

The Monkey Bar is filled with slides, touch to learn activities, climbing towers and is sure to keep the kids entertained for hours. With special play areas including soft play for the little ones, the play space is suited for children of all ages.
