Medical Practice Manager – Plastic Surgery

We are seeking applications for a Practice Manager to work in a busy, well established Plastic Surgery Practice in Mosman. The position is a permanent part-time position working 3 days a week, with availability to help cover other staff during sick or holiday leave.

The Practice Manager is a highly valued position within our team and is integral to the success of the business.  For a suitably qualified person it’s a rewarding role with an attractive level of remuneration and autonomy.  Salary will be based on experience and discussed on application.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing other staff (2 secretarial and one nurse)
  • Co-ordinating rosters, leave requests and the checking of time sheets
  • All hospital billing including; Workers Comp, No Gap to fund, Vet Affairs, Cosmetic etc.
  • Surgery quotations, cosmetic and combined surgery and liaising with health funds
  • Liaising with hospitals and anaesthetists for theatre bookings/lists and other specialists’ room
  • Ordering of surgical implants
  • Quarterly Reports for our accountant including GST reports
  • General secretarial work (diary management, patient bookings, processing payments, answering e-mail enquiries, managing correspondence through NTS Transcriptions and Argus)

The team is a fun, respectful and supportive group to work with.  We aim to provide exceptional care for our patients and make their experience a positive one. The current practice manager is retiring after 15 years and most of the team have been with us for a long time which attests to the positive working environment that exists in our practice. The practice principal (and owner) is a well-respected and ethical surgeon who has worked in the area for 17 years.  Finding the right person to be the Practice Manager is a very important step to ensuring the continued success of the practice.

Essential criteria:

  • Experience as a medical practice manager and 3 years + in the medical industry
  • Exceptional organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Have a proactive, can-do positive attitude
  • Good communication skills and a caring and compassionate manner
  • Good computer and practice software skills. (Knowledge of Shexie would be an advantage)
  • Good Multi-tasker
  • Have a high level of customer service and a professional phone manner.
