Jeans are still one of the most popular basics we can have in our wardrobe yet one of the hardest to get right for the shape.  Stylist Shannon Meddings has dressed thousands of women over past decade or so and has shared the rules we should stick to that once we know, will help us all choose the perfect pair of jeans, as well as sharing some of her favourite brands and styles to inspire you………

Jeans for Hourglass

As you have a smaller waist when it comes to jeans opting for a stretch fabric will ensure you have a great fit and no gaps in the small of your back. Also go for matt tones in the denim with no wash and stay away from shiny materials as they will create the illusion of extra curve.

Styles to opt for:

  • Skinny
  • Girlfriend

When it comes to jeans you may freak out at the idea as you usually are the owner of a more curvaceous lower half! Do not fret! Opt for jeans that have a matt tone to them and you will create a great silhouette. The other point to note is making sure the rise of the jeans ends above your belly button and below your waist line (base of your ribs) this will ensure a slight look that shows your curves off the best!

Styles to opt for:

  • Skinny
  • Flare
  • Girlfriend

One extra word of advice!

Getting the rise of your jeans is just as important as the cut.  If you want to create length in your legs always go for a higher waist line.
