The acclaimed four-piece ensemble, The Whitlams, is set to bring back their beloved Early Years show, featuring Scott Owen from The Living End, for their return to Twilight at Taronga in 2024.

Following a sold-out series of performances in major cities in October 2023, the band is eager to recreate the vibrant energy of their first three albums at Twilight at Taronga. Scott Owen will join the ensemble for the first hour of the show, where they will deliver a captivating performance showcasing the best of “Introducing The Whitlams,” “Undeniably The Whitlams,” and “Eternal Nightcap.”

Renowned for their distinctive sound, propelled by the dynamic double bass classics from ’93 to ’97, The Whitlams left an indelible mark on the airwaves. Hits like ‘Gough’ (1993), ‘I Make Hamburgers’ (1995), and ‘You Sound Like Louis Burdett’ (1997) resonated with audiences. Their chart-topping ‘No Aphrodisiac’ (1997) marked a pivotal moment, transitioning from double bass to electric bass, with Ian Peres seamlessly shifting from Hammond organ to bass.

The Whitlams lineup comprises Tim Freedman on piano and vocals, Jak Housden on guitar, Terepai Richmond on drums, and newest member Ian Peres on Hammond organ and electric bass.
