In his first solo photographic exhibition, The Next Wave, Ben Symons has captured talented local kids doing what they love most, shot against the natural beauty of the Northern Beaches.

When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the TV production he was working on, Ben suddenly found himself in lockdown with his family. Spending more time with his three children at their Northern Beaches home, he considered what sports his own kids might pursue in the future.

“As my own daughters are reaching an age where they’re out doing activities on their own, I wanted to explore what there is for them to do in the local area that’s keeping kids happy, healthy and off screens,” Ben says.
