As a highlight of Northern Beaches Council’s Youth Week 2024, a captivating screen printing workshop is slated for April 13th at PCYC Northern Beaches, a collaborative effort between the Council, Northern Beaches PCYC, and Uleague. Uleague, a notable not-for-profit organization dedicated to fostering basketball competitions, events, and workshops, is spearheading the delivery of this engaging workshop.
The workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to unleash their creativity by designing and screen printing their own shirts. Participants enrolled in the 3×3 tournament can enjoy the screen printing session free of charge, with the intention that teams will craft, print, and subsequently compete in their personalized shirts.
For community members not participating in the tournament, the workshop is available for a nominal fee of $10 per participant. This fee includes both the workshop itself and a t-shirt for participants to imprint their designs on. The workshop will accommodate two distinct time slots: one for individuals aged 18 and above from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, and another for those under 18 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
Concurrently, a basketball clinic will run in tandem with the screen printing session, focusing on honing individual skills and imparting insights into 3×3 basketball concepts. Led by coaches boasting experience in high-level play such as NBL1 and overseas, as well as coaching and FIBA 3×3 expertise, the clinic promises an enriching experience. The clinic segmented into two time slots, will allocate approximately 45 minutes each for individual skills, 3×3 techniques, and live play sessions. Attendance at the basketball clinic is free of charge, but prior bookings are essential.
This dynamic event caters specifically to young people aged 12 to 24, with limited spaces available. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots promptly. The screen printing segment of the event will be facilitated by Reggae Rockers, esteemed socially conscious artists renowned for their experience in hosting workshops across diverse communities.
