Description

The Net Zero Expo, a free event designed to inspire residents and businesses to reduce emissions, will be held for the first time.

Registration is free.

The Northern Beaches generates roughly two million tons of carbon dioxide annually, and these emissions are contributing to climate change and harming the local environment. The organizers acknowledge that many residents are already taking action, while others feel overwhelmed or unsure how to help. The Net Zero Expo aims to empower everyone to take steps towards reducing their emissions, emphasizing that collective action can make a significant difference.

This free, first-of-its-kind local event will take place on Sunday, 2nd June from 10am to 4pm. Attendees can speak with experts, try out products, and learn about initiatives related to solar power, energy efficiency, electric vehicles, and circular economy, and biodiversity.

The event will feature Craig Reucassel from ABC’s War on Waste as a keynote speaker, along with themed panel discussions led by inspiring net zero innovators, organizations, and government representatives. These discussions will focus on practical and achievable ways to reduce one’s environmental impact in everyday life.

Five themed zones dedicated to achieving net zero will be set up to help visitors identify areas in their lives and work where they can make emission reductions. Exhibitors will showcase a variety of ideas, products, and advice.

The Net Zero Expo is designed to support and inspire people on their sustainability journeys, regardless of their current efforts. The event aims to help attendees make their lifestyles cleaner, greener, and more affordable.

Entry to the Expo is free, but registration is encouraged to secure a spot and enter a draw to win prizes from exhibitors, including a weekend test drive of a BMW electric car. Terms and conditions apply.
