A preview tour of the new exhibitions, Three Echoes: Western Desert Art and Katy B. Plummer: We Believe You Babcia, will be held on 21st June at 10:30am. The tour will incorporate a talk by the Three Echoes curator, Djon Mundine OAM FAHA.

Three Echoes – Western Desert Art, curated by Djon Mundine OAM FAHA, showcases works by 57 acclaimed artists from the Ikuntji (Haasts Bluff), Papunya and Utopia Aboriginal communities in Australia’s Western Desert. Drawn from the private collections of Andrew Arnott and Karin Schack, the artworks in this touring exhibition reflect the significant artistic developments that fueled the rise of the Western Desert Art movement.

Katy B. Plummer: We Believe You Babcia is a multimedia art installation that explores storytelling, Polish grandmothers, intergenerational relationships, and the often-untraceable creative lineage of familial narratives. The work is inspired by a chilling ghost story, told by the artist’s grandmother Iwona, about encountering a group of ghostly actors on a flooded stage.
