Thresholds underlands is a collaborative project between Julia Davis and Lisa Jones that reflects upon transience and embodiment of place. It features drawings that were created in the darkness of the subterranean underlands of Paris and Sydney, and register the natural physical movement of each site together with the actions of the artists.
Undercurrent by Julia Davis continues to explore invisible aspects of the temporal world in her single channel video that was filmed on location and records the tidal movement off the Tasmanian coast. The moving image is underpinned by a sub-oceanic soundscape formed by the scraping of ice on the Antarctic sea floor.
Settled/unsettled is a multidisciplinary exhibition project exploring issues around refugees, asylum seekers, and the theme of cultural displacement.
