Join an engaging workshop led by weaving expert Catriona Pollard to discover the ancient basketry technique of looping. This technique, employed across cultures for millennia, allows participants to craft light and versatile forms.
Using paper cord, attendees will weave around a jar to create a stunning looped basket. No prior basketry experience is required, making it suitable for anyone seeking a creative morning.
All materials are provided; participants only need to bring a jar measuring approximately 15 cm x 6 cm deep.
This workshop is perfect for those who:
- Want to learn looping, but don’t know where to start.
- Have no weaving experience or wish to enhance their skills.
- Seek a fun and relaxing creative outlet.
Attendees will not only leave with a beautiful basket but also with confidence in this basketry technique.
The workshop coincides with Catriona’s solo exhibition, “Luminosity of Spirit,” running from March 7th to March 17th 2024, at Curl Curl Creative Space.
