Immersive theatre fans can look forward to Dorothy in Oz: An Immersive Cocktail Adventure, premiering at the 2025 Sydney Fringe Festival from 3rd to 28th September. Headlining the new Cabaret Hub at Marrickville Town Hall, the venue’s foyer transforms into a Kansas-themed bar where audiences step into the magical world of Oz.
Created by A.K. Wregg, the mind behind The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Adventure and more, this experience makes you a key player in a brand-new Oz story. Meet a sepia-toned Dorothy in the Kansas Bar, then be swept away by a twister to Princess Ozma’s birthday party, where you’ll interact with characters like the Tinman, Glinda, and the wicked Mombi — all while creating a bespoke cocktail or kids’ potion inspired by Oz.
This unique show combines L. Frank Baum’s classic world with interactive storytelling, live performance, cocktails, and stage magic. Family-friendly matinee sessions are available for younger audiences.
Sydney Fringe Artistic Director Patrick Kennedy says this production is a bold, innovative addition to the festival’s rich lineup of cabaret, comedy, and immersive shows.
