White Ribbon Day
In previous years, we have said NO to domestic violence with our community walk from Queenscliff to Manly. Due to COVID-19, this year’s walk will not be proceeding in its usual format.
Northern Beaches Domestic Violence Network and Northern Beaches Council are asking the community to come together to say no to domestic violence by grabbing a friend or two, wearing a white shirt and taking a walk on Friday 20 November to raise awareness of this issue.
On 20 November, we recognise White Ribbon Day. Also in November, the 16 Days of Activism is marked globally to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls. It begins on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and goes to 10 December, Human Rights Day.

For those experiencing domestic violence, it is important to highlight that there is a wide range of support available locally, including refuge shelters.
