Virtual Forest Bathing Session

It’s summer – go outside, forest bathers! Grab your phone and join in to a live, virtually-guided, group nature connection experience.

What is a guided forest therapy walk? You’ll be doing a slow-paced, easeful sensory exploration based on the Japanese practice of Shinrinyoku (forest bathing). There are many direct health benefits of this practice, including stress relief, lowered blood pressure, and improved immunity.

How do you participate in the virtual forest therapy walk? Where you choose to have this experience is totally up to you – you could join from your own backyard, at a park or garden, on a forest trail, at the beach, or wherever your favourite place is outside, as long as you can get decent cell phone reception and/or Wifi there! (If you can’t get outside, you are still more than welcome to join – just make yourself comfy near a window or a plant if you like.)

What’s the flow like? Wherever you participate from, the Walk lasts about 2 hours and includes sensory invitations and optional group sharing opportunities, and you’ll finish with a virtual tea circle! Feel free to bring your own cup of your favourite tea for this portion of the walk, or any beverage you like.

Technical details: They will be guiding you remotely, which means you’ll all be on your own devices on a group call. You’ll need to download the Google Meet app on your device beforehand. A welcome email with the Google Meet link will be emailed to you upon registration. The Google Meet link reminder will also be emailed 24 hours before the session.

Who is the guide? Her name is Fru and she’s an ANFT forest therapy guide in training. She will be guiding you all from her garden in Peekskill, NY (Lenapehoking), in partnership with all the beings there.
