It’s Not Always “Just ADHD”:How to Untangle What’s Really Going On With Your Child with Dr Brendan Daugherty
Our August 2026 speaker is Dr Brendan Daugherty, presenting It’s Not Always “Just ADHD”: How to Untangle What’s Really Going On With Your Child on Thursday 27 August 2026 @ 7pm AEST.
Many parents are told it’s ADHD—but what if that’s only part of the picture?
Join Dr Brendan Daugherty for an insightful and practical session exploring how to look beyond a single diagnosis and better understand the complex and overlapping challenges children may experience. When strategies aren’t working or things don’t quite add up, there is often more going on beneath the surface.
In this session, you’ll learn how ADHD can overlap with anxiety, autism, trauma, and learning difficulties; signs it may not be “just ADHD”; why misdiagnosis or incomplete understanding can occur; what a thorough assessment should include; and why some children don’t respond to typical ADHD strategies.
Parents will gain practical insights to better understand their child and begin making sense of complex presentations with greater clarity and confidence.
Dr Brendan Daugherty is a consultant psychiatrist and co-founder of Pandion Health, specialising in ADHD and complex neurodevelopmental presentations. He is known for helping families uncover what’s really going on and access the right support.
Professionals attending will receive a Certificate of Attendance to help them keep track of their professional development.
