In a rare theatrical treat directed by Artistic Director Mark Kilmurry, the Ensemble Theatre will present not one, but two of Harold Pinter’s gripping one-act plays, The Lover & The Dumb Waiter, in one night of pure genius, tension, and intrigue.
The Lover
In The Lover reality and fantasy slip into one, as Richard and Sarah find themselves exploring unconventional means to reignite their once conventional relationship. What’s left is a dangerous cat and mouse game churning with intrigue. This steamy psychological drama is brought to life by Nicole Da Silva (The Memory of Water, TV’s Wentworth) and Gareth Davies (Benefactors, Belvoir’s Master And Margarita).
The Dumb Waiter
Ben and Gus have a job to do. As they await instructions, their silence is disturbed by the rattle of a dumb waiter delivering peculiar food orders. Who is making demands for extravagant dishes when all the two men have is a packet of crisps? As intensity builds, Ben and Gus begin to question everything… and so will you, in true Pinter fashion. Davies returns to the stage alongside Anthony Taufa (Alone It Stands, A Christmas Carol), in this comedy of claustrophobia that will leave you itching for more.
