Singing Up Country 2022 is a festival showcasing Aboriginal musicians, their culture, music and community spirit led by Yaegl man Michal Birk.
Enjoy the music, the supper, the yarning, the listening, the learning, the Spirit of Country and go away sharing the good stories to all your friends and families!
This event is part of the Gaimariagal Festival 2022.
Session One – Talking, Walking Country
Before the music, join in a free event in the regenerated bush of story-telling by Dennis Foley.
This event brings together many communities. It is run in collaboration with the Frenchs Forest Catholic Parish Social Justice Group and the Kierans Creek Landcare Group with support by Mona Vale Music. Bush To Bowl will offer indigenous foods and plants.
Session Two – Singing Up Country
3.45pm Smoking Ceremony, 4-8pm
Musicians are: Jazz Statesman Johnny Nicol, Kevin Hunt, The Stiff Gins, R&B Rap singer Radical Son, Michael Birk and the Recognisers, GiiMusic, Nadeena Dixon and Aleta Wassell.
Enjoy a warming soup supper.
Cost: $50 (Pensioners and Students $35). Children under 16 free
