Palm Beach Clean Up with Northern Beaches Clean Up Crew
Join the January clean up at Palm Beach.
Meet in the grass area south of the North Palm Beach Surf Lifesaving Club.
There will be gloves, bags and buckets. You’ll clean up this area to try and catch all the litter before it enters the ocean.
The aim is to try and remove as much plastic and rubbish as possible before it enters the ocean. Some of them can focus on Pittwater area, grass areas and others can walk along the beach.
Everyone will clean up until around 11.20am and after that everyone will sort and count the rubbish, so it can be contributed to research by entering it to a marine debris data base.
The sorting and counting is normally finished around noon and everyone often go for lunch together at their own expense. They understand if you cannot stay for this part, but are grateful if you can. They appreciate any help they can get, no matter how small or big.
No booking required – just show up on the day.
They’re a friendly group of people and everyone is welcome to this family-friendly event. It’s a nice community – make some new friends and do a good deed for the planet at the same time. For everyone to feel welcome, please leave political and religious messages at home.
There is a carpark, but it can be busy on Sundays, so check streets close by as well if it’s full.
Message them on social media or send them an email if you are lost.
Please invite your friends too.
No booking required. Just turn up on the day. Please note, that they start at 10 and clean up until about 11.15. After that, sort and count the rubbish. At around 12.30 this is finished and pack up and if you would like, they got for lunch together at your own expense.
