Kokedama originated in Japan in the 1600s and is an alternate version of bonsai. A technique of planting where the roots and soil are wrapped in a ball of moss and decoratively bound by twine to hold everything together.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of how to make a kokedama, including how to mix your own soil, plant selection and care to ensure your mossy-ball survives and thrives.
All the materials will be provided for you to create your very own masterpiece. If you have a plant you’d like to transform into a kokedama please bring it along.
Suitable for adults and high school aged youth.
