Astronomy Open Night 2023
Calling curious stargazers of all ages, Sydney’s most spectacular astronomy event is back on again, and you’re invited to pull up a front-row seat as they explore the Universe together.
From small beginnings in 1988, their Astronomy Open Night has grown into what some regular visitors call ‘the Royal Easter Show for the Stars’ – and this year’s event will have more to entertain and educate and enthral you than ever before.
This year’s event will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including:
- Physics magic shows
- Immersive planetarium sessions
- Kids’ space with mini experiments and activities
- Robot demonstrations
- Short talks from Macquarie academics and experts
- Stargazing at the Astronomical Observatory
- Laser Guide Star
- Exhibition Hall with stalls from the local astronomy community
Food and drink will be available for purchase, and the event will go ahead rain or shine.
Tickets are now on sale for our annual Astronomy Open Night, a family-friendly event that typically sells out fast.
