The public is invited to attend Remembrance Day Memorial Services on the Northern Beaches this November.
Remembrance Day commemorates the armistice at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, marking the end of World War 1 (1914-18) 99 years ago and remembers all those who have suffered or died in wars and armed conflicts.
Friday 10 November at 10:45am:
? Manly Dam War Memorial Park, King Street, Manly Vale (presented by Northern Beaches Council and the Manly Warringah War Memorial Park Remembrance Trust)
Saturday 11 November at 10:45am:
? The Manly War Memorial, corner of The Corso and Belgrave Street (presented by Northern Beaches Council)
Avalon RSL Sub Branch, Palm Beach RSL, Pittwater RSL, Dee Why RSL and the War Veterans, Collaroy Plateau will also hold services.
All members of the community are invited to attend, and there is an opportunity for the general public to lay private tributes.
The Manly Dam War Memorial Park service will be attended by Balgowlah North, Manly Vale and St Kieran’s schools, whose captains will give an address. Pittwater House cadets will also be present, with music supplied by the Pittwater House band, piper Graham MacKay and bugler Vaughan Price.
The Manly War Memorial service MC will be Benjamin Webb, Centre Manager at Veterans Centre – Sydney Northern Beaches.
Those attending are asked to be seated by 10:40am.
