The Northern Beaches Youth Theatre got through the shaky Covid-riddled opening last year to bring a wonderful performance of Hating Alison Ashley. This year they have an exciting piece from Australian playwright, Jessica Bellamy.
“Life is hard enough for a ‘worrier’ living on an isthmus in the middle of a climate emergency, Bea can see every possible scenario that could go wrong.
It doesn’t help that the parents either don’t get it or are just as anxious themselves.
What happens when your worries come to life?
Who is more dangerous… the sharks or the humans?”
Get along to see the Northern Beaches Youth Theatre’s June Production of Jessica Bellamy’s School of Sharks. This play is a family-friendly, clever, humorous but deep look at the struggles young people endure. It invites many discussions about environment, anxiety, privilege and emotional wellbeing.
