We had the pleasure of watching SIX THE MUSICAL at Theatre Royal Sydney, and it was a great opportunity to experience this popular musical in its new Australian production.
The show tells the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives in a fun and modern way. Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr each take the stage to share their stories through music and performance.
Instead of a traditional musical, SIX feels more like a pop concert, with upbeat songs, colourful costumes, impressive lighting and lively choreography. Each queen has her own personality and style, making the show interesting to watch from beginning to end.
One of the best things about the show is how it gives each woman a chance to tell her own story. It looks at history from a different point of view, showing that there is more to these women than their connection to Henry VIII.
The cast brings energy and character to the stage, with each performer having her own moment to shine. The mix of music, humour and history makes the show enjoyable for people who love musicals, as well as those looking for something different to see in Sydney.
If you are looking for a fun night out, SIX THE MUSICAL is worth considering. Its mix of modern music and historical stories offers a fresh take on a well-known part of history.
It is great to see another exciting production bringing live theatre to Sydney audiences and giving theatre lovers something new to enjoy.SIX THE MUSICAL is playing at Theatre Royal Sydney. Check the theatre’s official website for show dates, tickets and further information.
