School is back and that means it’s time to find new classes and activities!

We have joined up with some amazing businesses to bring you this guide for Term 3 2021. We have a wide variety of classes and activities for babies, girls and boys!

Queenwood Tennis

With 10 synthetic grass and two cushion hard courts, The Queenwood Tennis Centre is uniquely placed in the leafy surrounds of Oxford Falls. Their courts are available for hire 7 days and their weekly programs offer a complete range of tennis activities for all levels. Beginner to Elite, Juniors to Adults. The Queenwood Coaching Team aims to provide engaging, high energy sessions with a focus on maximum participation and improvement. Available for private, semi-private and group lessons – their coaches are all motivated players themselves with Australian and International qualifications and experience. They are an Active Kids Provider and are a Tennis NSW Affiliated Club.

Vittoria Arts Sydney

Portrait and Still Life Drawing Classes for high school students aged 15 – 18 years at Vittoria Arts Studio, Balgowlah.

Vittoria Arts Sydney is a practicing artist’s studio owned by Vittoria Vieceli and is offering a 7 week term starting from 4th of August until 15th of September for both Still Life and Portrait drawing classes (with a clothed life model) for high school students in years 9 – 12. This is a great opportunity for students to both strengthen their skills in traditional drawing and gain confidence in their personal art practice. Two class times are available during the term: 4.00pm – 5.30pm and 5.45pm – 7.15pm.

Casual (pay as you go) trail classes are available in July on Wednesdays: 14th, 21st and 28th of July, from 4.30pm – 6pm.

The classes will be small groups of 6 – 8 students only and bookings are essential! Creative kids voucher approved. 
Cost: $40 per class ($30 with the creative kids voucher).

Academy of Acrobatics and Gymnastics International

AAGI is a new and dynamic gymnastics club located in Brookvale. They cater for all ages and abilities and offer KindyGym, Recreational, Acrodance, Tumbling, Artistic and Acrobatic classes. Modbod Kids

Modbod Kids is all about helping your child move better, get stronger and learn proper technique when it comes to learning new skills!

Their programs are a combination of strength, movement and gymnastics, and offer classes from as young as 18 months of age upwards. They are a registered gymnastics club (affiliated with Gymnastics NSW) with accredited and professional coaches.

Their Under 5’s Program (18 months – 5 years), has the kids moving through fun circuits, and learning new skills that help the kids improve their strength, balance, coordination, body awareness and general motor skills. 

Positive movement experiences can influence a child’s outlook on physical activity for life! This is why our Under 5’s program is so important to any child’s physical and social development.

They also offer the following recreational gymnastics based programs for school aged kids:

Northern Beaches Youth Theatre

The Northern Beaches Youth Theatre will reopen its doors in term 3, 2021 with preparations for a December production of Richard Tulloch’s stage play adaptation of Robin Klein’s Hating Alison Ashley.

Northern Beaches Youth Theatre know not all stars are on the stage. They have two brilliant casts after an overwhelming response to the audition callout. They are now looking for behind the scenes heroes to be mentored and trained in stage management and production.

Ladybug Music

Balgowlah Physie Club

Physie is a form of dance and exercise to music. Classes are by age group and each age group learns 5 – 6 new routines each year. The routines are choreographed to contemporary music and are a cross section of different styles of dance such as aerobics, ballet, jazz, and hip hop.

There are many benefits of being a Physie girl. Physie builds confidence, develops posture, improves coordination, increases flexibility, and keeps you fit!

Physie Competitions are held in the later part of the year at an individual and team level. Competitions are not compulsory, however, at Balgowlah Physie, every effort is made to include every girl in a team. Being a part of a Physie team is fun and teaches the girls to work together.

Fee Free Training Opportunities

With the kids back at school, now is your opportunity to study – either start a new career or add to your existing skills! This can be done FEE FREE for many NSW residents thanks to Skilling for Recovery/Jobtrainer funding from the NSW Government (due to finish September 2021).

Choose from accredited certificate and diploma courses in counselling, business, aged care, nursing assistant, disability, allied health, leisure and health, community services, early childcare, leadership and management, human resources and computers. Some short work skills courses are also available.

If you are aged 16-24 OR unemployed (you don’t need to be in receipt of government benefits) OR at risk of losing your job, you could be eligible for FEE FREE training in the above courses. See for further details.

The College has campuses at North Narrabeen, Brookvale and Mosman. Daytime and/or evening courses are available, beginning in July. (Some available via Zoom).
