If you’ve got a little one who loves silly words and even sillier animal noises, this one is an absolute treat. Tanya Hennessy has such a gift for tapping into exactly what makes kids giggle. The sillier and more chaotic, the better and this farmyard romp is no exception. My seven-year-old was cracking up within the first few pages, and honestly, so was I.

It’s the kind of book that turns into a bit of a performance at bedtime, with plenty of oinks, moos and cock-a-doodle-doos thrown in for good measure (my son now insists on doing all the sound effects himself). It’s playful, warm and just plain fun, and it’s the sort of book that gets requested again and again. Which, as any parent knows, is the real mark of a winner.
